Dr Selvan Dass

Dr Selvan Dass graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from The University of Otago (Dunedin, New Zealand) in 2003 and has been practicing in Australia ever since. He has worked in Mildura (Regional VIC) and Gatton (West of Brisbane, QLD) prior to settling down on the Gold Coast. Dr Selvan Dass has been practicing in the Tugun, Banora Point and Tweed Heads areas since 2006 and has over 20 years of experience in private practice. Selvan has a large local following and patients always comment on his gentleness, expertise and attention to detail.
Dr Selvan Dass is passionate about all facets of General Dentistry. Selvan practices minimally invasive dentistry and emphasises Preventative Dental care. Furthermore, he believes in patient focussed and ethical dentistry. Selvan has a special interest in the fields of Cosmetic Dentistry, Implants and Endodontics. Dr Rakesh Bhula

Dr. Rakesh Bhula is one of our friendly dentists here at Griffith Street Family Dental. He has been with the practice since its inception on July 1st 2013. He studied for his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) in Otago NZ and graduated with prizes in Hospital Dentistry and for the research topic "Oral Health Status of Hospice Patients".

Dr. Bhula was born in Wellington NZ and grew up in Rotorua. He has been living on the Gold Coast for 19 years. In his spare time, he enjoys surfing the net, tinkering with his 3D printer, fishing and visiting the gym.

Cheryll Dunn
Dental Practitioner in Oral Health Therapy with Advanced Clinical Practice
Cheryll graduated from Griffith University on the Gold Coast in 2006 and made history by being one of the first dental students to graduate from the new dental school with a Bachelor of Oral Health. In 2016 Cheryll completed a Post Graduate degree in Dental Therapy (Advanced Clinical Practice) at the prestigious University of Melbourne Dental School. This degree expands Cheryll’s scope of practice to provide dental treatment to all ages. Prior to this, Cheryll began her dental career as a dental assistant in Brisbane, before moving to the Coolangatta area in 1989. Cheryll has worked for various dentists on the Gold Coast and this experience has assisted in the opening of Griffith Street Family Dental.
Cheryll has years of experience in treating children and teenagers and is passionate about making a visit to the dentist fun for both kids and parents alike. Cheryll knows the importance of creating a positive and enjoyable dental experience for your child and for you. She enjoys treating special needs patients, focussing on familiarity to ease them into dental visits. With the focus on good oral hygiene, education and diet, Cheryll also provides all aspects of preventative and general dentistry for adults and children.
Cheryll has also undergone additional training in teeth whitening and provides Zoom® bleaching for suitable candidates. She is consistently updating her skills to provide the most up to date dentistry for her patients.
Outside of her professional life, Cheryll is one of the southern coast locals. Cheryll has been a surf lifesaver for over 3 decades. She is a long serving member of Kirra SLSC and has competed in surf boat rowing at State, Australian and World levels. She is currently the 25th President of Kirra Surf Life Saving Club and the first female President of the club in its 106 year history. With husband Daniel she shares a passion for horses and regularly attends racing functions locally and interstate. She is mother to 2 children and 3 step children and enjoys spending time with the family.
